While my father was here for my birthday, we visited the Sudha Cars Museum, which is primarily a display of Mad Engineer Builds Cars. It also has a lovely little WWII reconstruction corner, including the cycles and motorcycles that paratroopers used to jump with, which consist of a collapsible frame and very sparse engine but must still have added substantially to the weight of their packs. It was delightful to imagine the Band of Brothers people biking on things that came up barely to knee-height on me.
It also had two reconstructed Silver Ghosts, from 1922 and 1934, cars with which Peter Wimsey must have been exceedingly familiar. They're such huge stunning things, even if one can see why cars of the time were used as phallic metaphors.
