(an adventure)
Jun. 4th, 2015 01:29 pmHaven't been sleeping nights lately. Decided this morning not to doze off and instead caught a train and a bus and went to Charminar. Shopping limited to fruit, two dozen glass bangles, and a pearl string for a friend's mother, but got a few photos as well.

Food Blogging, Day whatever
May. 23rd, 2015 01:50 amI made fusilli in a garlic cheese sauce with mushroom and salami.

- Heat oil in a pan.
- Put in chopped/smashed garlic (about 10-12 cloves) and brown
- Add chopped mushroom (250gm) and saute till it lets off water.
- Add salami (250 gm) and saute.
- Add water or stock and simmer.
- Add salt, pepper, whatever spices you want to use (I added a bit of red pepper sauce, some oregano and a mysterious thing called pizza seasoning)
- When the sauce starts to bubble, add the pasta.
- When pasta is al dente, add cheese and stir into the sauce.
- Switch off the heat/fire and allow to settle.

Food Blogging, Day 04
Apr. 22nd, 2015 02:47 pmSo yesterday I made tuna pasta, my parents freaked out and ordered me to get other food delivered because apparently this was a suicidal move (My mother's allergic to sea-food, I... might be, and once about three years ago my mouth itched for about five minutes because of tuna), I told them I was and had the pasta anyway, popped a couple cetrizine tablets and then proceeded to freak out myself and friends by agonizing whether my incipient cold was actually my throat closing up.
Good times, yo.

Good times, yo.
- Saute onion and garlic in olive oil, using the oil the fish has been canned in.
- When onion turns transparent put in shredded fish and saute till browned.
- Pour water, and add pasta when water starts boiling.
- Cook with the lid closed till pasta is al dente.
- Add salt, pepper, spices to taste.
- When sauce has thickened, add cheese and turn off the heat.
- Let cheese melt to create a crust, or stir it into the pasta.
- Optional last step, pop a cetrizine tablet and enjoy your meal.

Food Blogging, Day 03
Apr. 21st, 2015 03:49 pmDidn't cook anything yesterday, so this is from day before yesterday. I made paneer.

- Heat oil and put in a couple tea-spoons of ginger-garlic paste.
- Add tomatoes, saute till tender.
- Add paneer when tomatoes begin to reduce, brown lightly.
- Add water, salt, spices to taste.
- Simmer till sauce thickens with lid closed.

Food Blogging, Day 02
Apr. 18th, 2015 07:27 pmToday I made pasta with broccoli, mushrooms, and capsicum.
Recipe:

Recipe:
- Add capsicum to heated oil, saute till tender and beginning to brown.
- Add mushrooms, brown till letting off water.
- Lightly saute broccoli (I removed the mushrooms and capsicum before frying broccoli but that's space-constraint)
- Add water, simmer everything.
- Add macaroni, salt, pepper, spices according to taste.
- Turn off heat when pasta's as cooked as you like.
- Optional last step, add cheese.

Food Blogging, Day 01
Apr. 17th, 2015 07:07 pmWe have bird flu in the city, and I should really stop eating out anyway. So I've decided to cook at least one meal every day (a LOT of one-pot meals coming up) and post a couple of photos and an abbreviated recipe, just to see how long this lasts.
Today I made potatoes with cumin seeds and tomatoes and some garlic powder.

Happy New Year!
Dec. 31st, 2011 11:25 pmI've been largely absent this year, especially these last six months, and for that I'm sorry. Life's been fairly hideous, especially since I spent (yes) the last six months largely depressed, and mostly failed to realise that till December. :(
The last couple of weeks have been a lot better, and I'm hoping so will the next year.
