He watches Harry. Watches as features more familiar than his own twist in slightly unfamiliar ways. Steals, once, a glance at Molly Weasley, who, for a woman who claims to love the boy like a son, imitates a spurned lover splendidly every time Harry smiles or even looks at him. Hates himself for letting his bitterness twist his thoughts into directions she probably cannot imagine. Hates her for being so right about his inability to successfully separate Harry and James at all times. Hates himself for the hunger in his scarred heart when he looks at his still-trusting, still-miraculously-innocent godson.
