For Day 1 of 31 Flavours, one of my favourite Miranda Hamilton iterations, fierce and empathic and actually allowed to do things on her own, in the modern era. The last bit feels a tad Silver-apologetic and OOC, but Miranda herself is so very very stunning that this is one my comfort re-reads, despite the tags.

Ila is Manu’s child, Ila is Kardama’s child, Ila is Manu’s bride.
Ila is Ikshvaku’s eldest, youngest, only sibling.
Ila is only ever Ila in Budh’s arms. Ila is always Ila. Ila is always in Budh’s arms, even as Sudyumna.
Ila is a father to sons who never inherit. Ila’s sons inherit Bahlika from their father. Ila sires no sons.
Ila is Pururavas’ mother, the mother of a race.
